Policies & Governance

Core safeguarding, complaints and governance documents for Valiant Homes supported accommodation.

Our approach to safe and accountable practice

Valiant Homes is committed to providing safe, well-managed and person-centred supported accommodation for young people. Clear policies help us work consistently, protect young people, support staff and maintain strong standards across the service.

These documents explain the principles we follow, the responsibilities we hold, and the routes available for raising concerns, complaints or safeguarding matters. They also help placing authorities, families and professionals understand how our service is governed.

Safeguarding and safer practice

Safeguarding is central to how we operate. We take concerns seriously, respond promptly, and work with placing authorities, local safeguarding partners and other professionals where required. Our approach is trauma-informed, practical and focused on the welfare of each young person.

We also use safer recruitment processes so that staff working with young people are checked, suitable and understand their safeguarding responsibilities.

Feedback, complaints and speaking up

We welcome feedback because it helps us improve. Young people, families, professionals, neighbours, staff and other stakeholders can raise concerns or complaints, and we aim to respond fairly, sensitively and within clear timescales.

Where someone needs to raise a serious concern about wrongdoing, unsafe practice or malpractice, our whistleblowing procedure provides a safe route to speak up.
